Dave Portnoy has launched a savage attack on a college student who is begging for money and remarkably claims he is the true ‘victim’ of the vile anti-Semitic attack at the Barstool Sports bar in Philadelphia.

Footage posted to a now-deleted Instagram account over the weekend showed a bottle service worker at Barstool Sansom Street – which is owned by the company founded by Portnoy – holding up an illuminated sign that read ‘F*** the Jews.’

Portnoy – who is Jewish – detailed the incident on social media, revealing that he had fired two waitresses and identified the two people allegedly responsible for ordering the sign. ‘This was an act of pure hate and this should disgust you,’ he said.

The shocking scandal ratcheted up another notch on Tuesday night after Mo Khan released a video claiming he has received death threats and is seeing his life ‘ruined’ over ‘just an edgy joke’. Portnoy responded by branding him the ‘face of hatred’.

The student asked for money to ‘defend’ himself and ‘show the founders of cancel culture that their reign of tyranny is over’. The 21-year-old also appeared on a show hosted by Stew Peters, a ‘a far-right conspiracy theorist’ who has been labeled a ‘prolific antisemite’. In one clip of their discussion that appeared online, Peters called Portnoy a ‘filthy Jew’.

Khan has been suspended from university, fired from his job, and lost ‘a prestigious internship that I worked really hard to get’. He also claims to have been sent pictures of ‘children dying’.

Portnoy alleges that Khan – whom he called ‘a f***ing anti-Semitic piece of s***’ – ‘owned up to’ being involved and ‘cried’ before ‘lawyering up’.

The Barstool founder also claimed that Khan uploaded a video of the sign to Instagram and the 21-year-old admitted to ‘reporting’ on it. But he now claims he ‘had nothing to do with the sign coming out, nor do I know who did it’.

Khan insists his previous confession – which does ‘not accurately reflect… the responsibility I bear’ – was made ‘under extreme duress and threats to destroy me and my parents’. He claimed to be up against ‘a multi-millionaire’ who is ‘twice my age’ and ‘well connected to all these institutions that are very elite.’

Khan also accused the Barstool boss of ‘lying, ‘sensationalizing’ the story and ‘viciously attacking’ him.

‘Dave Portnoy owes me restitutions and an apology for everything he’s done,’ said the student, who claimed his roommates have been forced to ‘evacuate’ their house after the address was leaked.

‘They have no right to destroy my life over free speech and ultimately something that was an edgy joke’.

Khan accused the Barstool boss of a ‘shameless act of hypocrisy… lynching me – an innocent young man – over a joke I didn’t even make’.

He also compared the incident to the Israel-Palestine conflict, claiming ‘the sign was provocative because it reminded people a lot of the unjust things that Israel is doing around the world – thus leading me to report on it’.

Khan said: ‘That sign had no effects in terms of killing any Jews. However, Israel kills thousands of people on a daily basis. Dave Portnoy and the greater Jewish community are acting as if they are the victims when this whole time I am the victim… I love my parents.

‘They worked hard to earn American citizenship the right way and become productive citizens. We love America. I love free speech.’

On his fundraising page, which had already brought in nearly $8,000 by Tuesday night, Khan added: ‘They’re more concerned about destroying my life than they are with stopping a genocide that is blowing up children.’

His comments sparked a furious reaction from Portnoy, who branded the student a ‘flat liar’, a ‘brain-dead moron’ and ‘the definition of a coward’.

‘He’s now actually trying to profit from this and he’s playing the role of a victim,’ the Barstool founder fumed. ‘His name got out because he’s a moron and uploaded “F*** the Jews” sign to his Instagram before I even knew about it. He already went viral without me.’

Portnoy added: ‘Then he does a 180 and says “I was a citizen journalist, I don’t know who did it, I had nothing to do with it…” He’s just a flat liar coward with no responsibility.’

The Barstool boss initially said he would send the culprits to Auschwitz in Poland to learn about the holocaust as a punishment for their actions.

‘I tried to show grace… I tried to actually – and now I feel dumb – make it right. Now he does this video blaming it on me,’ Portnoy continued. ‘If you have an ounce of morality… this has to disgust you and this kid’s face should be engrained in you.

‘This is what the face of hatred is. This is what the face of being a coward is. This is face of zero accountability, everything that’s wrong with his generation. And this kid – now, officially – it should stick with him forever. And by the way, his parents – who I know are giving him advice – nice kid you raised.’

The Barstool founder also took issue with Khan’s comparisons between the sign and the conflict in Gaza.

‘Spare me – this was so out of his playbook – what’s going on the Middle East,’ Portnoy said.

‘Palestine, Israel… because I admit that’s a f***ing horrible situation and I certainly get both sides in that… but this was about being a Jew in America.’

Philadelphia police are investigating the incident that occurred on Saturday evening.

In a statement, meanwhile, Temple president John Fry said the school’s Division of Student Affairs ‘identified one Temple student who is believed to have been involved’ and placed them on interim suspension.

The school is continuing to investigate the incident and that ‘any additional students who are found to be involved will face strict disciplinary action under the Student Conduct Code, up to and including expulsion.’

‘In the strongest terms possible, let me be clear: antisemitism is abhorrent. It has no place at Temple and acts of hatred and discrimination against any person or persons are not tolerated at this university,’ Fry’s statement said.
