Dave Portnoy taunts Kyrie Irving with a CLOWN t-shirt of the NBA star’s face as he sits courtside for Boston Celtics vs Dallas Mavericks

Dave Portnoy taunted Kyrie Irving by wearing a clown t-shirt with a picture of the Mavericks star’s face on during Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Boston.

Barstool Sports founder Portnoy has been bullish on the Celtics winning the series but targeted the star man for Dallas with his clothing as he took a courtside seat for Game 2 in Boston.

Portnoy, 47, even appeared on the jumbotron at one point in the game – where he was sat next a blonde companion – and he held his t-shirt up to the cameras. He was also seen booing as loud as he could when Irving had the ball during the game.

After the Celtics beat Irving and his Mavericks team 105-98, Portnoy tweeted out a link to the t-shirt he was wearing for fans to buy for $32.

Portnoy also stands to take his gambling winnings up to $7.5million for the year if the Celtics win the NBA Finals and the Edmonton Oilers win the Stanley Cup.

Last week, before the Finals began, Portnoy said that he will win $1.1m alone if the Celtics become NBA champions.

It looks a solid bet for now – Sunday’s win means the Celtics lead Irving and the Mavericks 2-0 in the series.

Before the game, Portnoy tweeted a picture of him taking a selfie next to the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, and captioned it: ‘Too soon? #celticsin4’.

The Oilers, meanwhile, lost the first game in the battle for the Stanley Cup 3-0 to Florida Panthers.

Game 3 of the NBA Finals is Wednesday night in Dallas. The Mavericks need a win then or in Game 4 on Friday to avoid a sweep and earn a trip back to the Boston Garden, where the local fans are already making space in the rafters for what would be an unprecedented 18th NBA championship banner.

Jaylen Brown scored 21 points, Tatum had 18 and Derrick White also scored 18 points for top-seeded Boston on Sunday.

Irving, meanwhile, could only muster 16 points with his nemesis Portnoy watching on from one of the best seats in the house.
