Dave Portnoy tears into Chicago radio host after he chided a Barstool employee for using his last name: ‘You created an enemy for life’

Dave Portnoy and his army of Barstool Sports fans are feuding with a Chicago sports radio host after he scolded a popular Barstool personality.

Barstool Eddie recently served as a guest host on Chicago station 670 The Score, and crossed paths with morning host Dan Bernstein as he and co-host Laurence Holmes were leading into the afternoon program.

However, Bernstein was apparently unhappy that Eddie called him by his last name (his show is called ‘Bernstein and Holmes’ for what it’s worth), and let him know about it on air.

‘You can call me Dan or you can call me Bernsy, but you don’t know me like that,’ he said.

There is also a video that has emerged from after Bernstein and Holmes went to break, in which Holmes could be seen asking ‘What did he call you?’, to which Bernstein made a mocking face and appeared to say his own name.

The videos spread on social media on Tuesday and unsurprisingly angered Portnoy, who has said Bernstein created an ‘enemy for life’ and encouraged ‘Stoolies’ to flood the Bernstein and Holmes show’s phone lines.

Portnoy also wrote on X that ‘Stoolies have never had a more important war than to ruin this guys life (professionally speaking of course),’ before referring to the radio host as an a**hole.

He also railed against Bernstein in a TikTok. 

‘I don’t even care if Eddie was insulted, I’m f*****g insulted,’ he said, via Awful Announcing. So now Stoolies, you have my permission. This is where people like Dave, you shouldn’t do this. You’re too big on a professional level……professional.! You can harass the f*** out of this guy till his dying breath he deserves wherever he does a live feed. ‘

‘Whenever he’s on the radio, people call harass him, calling him ‘Bernstein’, prank him, he’s out doing a live show, harass him, prank him, call him Bernstein. He shouldn’t be able to sleep professionally speaking the rest of his life. F*** this guy.’

Dave Portnoy also dug up old posts from Bernstein, including one where he said women’s basketball was not a sport

Stoolies did just that as ‘Bernstein’ became trending on X and the show’s official account on the site was met with hundreds of replies, with fans taking pleasure in writing out his last name.

Portnoy also unearthed some unflattering old posts from Bernstein, including one in which he wrote 12 years ago that women’s basketball is not ‘sports.’

The Barstool founder gleefully shared the old post and wrote, ‘This guy sucks! He hates women. He hates Caitlin Clark!’

For his part, Barstool Eddie called Bernstein a ‘miserable guy’ on X as he spoke about the situation. 

 ‘I didn’t say that to get a rise out of him,’ he said. ‘Who in their right mind would think that saying someone’s last name would piss someone off? Honestly, I don’t understand it. 

‘I could have said anything and Bernstein was gonna look at the opportunity to jump on top of me. That’s all there is to it and yeah, Dan Bernstein is just a miserable, miserable guy.’

Later in the night, Portnoy gave his verdict on the Donald Trump vs. Kamala Harris presidential debate – giving credit to the performance of the current vice president.
