David and Victoria Beckham are ‘saving the pennies’

He’s just revealed that they have too many children to be ‘extravagant’ in their romance with one another.

Yet David and Victoria Beckham – who have a combined estimated worth of £337million – were seen leaving The Ritz Hotel with their eldest son Brooklyn on Thursday morning in Paris.

The couple are in town for Paris Fashion Week Men’s and seemed to have splashed out around £800-per-night for their latest family stay, ahead of the Louis Vuitton show.

It conflicts with a candid new interview that David has given to ES Magazine this week, in which he reveals why he still saves the pennies.

On spending money on his fashionista wife, he said: ‘We used to be very extravagant in what we’d buy each other.

‘But we’re obviously saving the pennies now because we have so many children to be extravagant.’

Business mogul Victoria certainly showed independent flair as she led David and Brooklyn out of the 5-star establishment.

She was dressed in sharp orange trousers and a striped shirt, with a long camel overcoat layered on top.

Though absent for their trip to the French capital, David and Victoria are also parents to Romeo, 15, Cruz, 12, and six-year-old Harper.

Now 18, Brooklyn may live away from home in New York City but noticeably still followed his parents’ fashionable influence in a Louis Vuitton red shirt.

Only the day before, David was seen collecting an outrageous haul from the fashion house’s Supreme collaboration, ahead of Kim Jones’ final menswear show.

David and Victoria are enjoying the ‘City of love’ together and relishing time where they are not engrossed in individual projects.

Devoted family man David emphasised the importance of spending time with his wife in his ES interview, saying that romance was about, ‘the simple things, really.’

‘It’s more about spending time together, going for a simple dinner together. Having a nice bottle of wine together.’

On teaching his wife about fine wine, he said:‘Victoria didn’t really drink wine up until very recently so she has all of a sudden discovered my passion.’

David joked about her appreciation for cheaper, five-pound-a-bottle wines like Blue Nun and Lambrusco, before adding: ‘I’ve introduced her to good, decent wine.’

He continued: ‘I love Californian reds. I love the buttery-ness of Burgundy. Montrachet, I love. Cheval Blanc is one of my favourites.’

At Christmas, Victoria boasted about drinking to a pricey Screaming Eagle wine, which has been known to sell for around £2,500.

Sharing the labels, Victoria also showed that she was enjoying a £1,280 bottle of red Chateau Margaux during Christmas Day.

As part of David’s telling interview, he also considered the use of surgery for anti-aging, saying it was not something he would ever do.

‘So definitely cosmetic surgery might be okay for some people; I’m not saying it’s bad. But for me, personally, never. Never!

‘I have no interest in doing anything like that, ever. Growing old gracefully is my thing. I would never inject my face. Or my backside, obviously.’

Doubting himself about the legitimacy of bum injections, he then added: ‘I don’t know whether it’s a thing but I definitely haven’t done that.’

WHO IS KIM JONES?

Louis Vuitton’s menswear designer, Kim Jones, is leaving after seven years with LVMH’s biggest fashion label, with speculation as to his next move already underway.

Jones’ exit comes amid a recent merry-go-round of artistic directors at the world’s biggest fashion groups, as some seek to breathe new life into brands with star hires or eye-catching new designs.

Louis Vuitton did not give any reasons for Jones’ departure.

“His ability to set trends is impeccable,” Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Michael Burke said of the British designer, who is credited with boosting the brand by giving its menswear collections a streetwear edge.

“All of us who have been fortunate to work with Kim wish him continued success in his next venture,” he added.

Jones helped develop a hit collaboration in 2017 between Vuitton and skatewear brand Supreme on a collection of branded hoodies, bags and other goods. He has already been linked with several other labels.
