David Beckham appears NOT to celebrate Lionel Messi’s stoppage-time equalizer against  LA Galaxy… but was Inter Miami co-owner just being respectful to his former MLS team?

Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham seemed to stop himself from celebrating after Lionel Messi’s dramatic equalizer against his former club LA Galaxy.

Messi rescued a point for Inter Miami on Sunday night, scoring in stoppage time as Tata Martino’s side came from behind to draw 1-1 at Dignity Health Sports Park.

The goal ensured Miami maintained its unbeaten start to the 2024 MLS season in front of a star-studded crowd in California.

Beckham was watching from a suite on Sunday night, alongside his sons Brooklyn (24) and Cruz (19), as well as Hollywood stars Liv Tyler and Edward Norton.

After Messi turned home a pullback from Jordi Alba, Beckham’s box exploded with emotion, with those around the Miami co-owner on their feet, celebrating with one another.

But cameras showed Beckham sitting down with a straight face even while Brooklyn, Cruz and those alongside him toasted Messi’s goal.

Beckham spent five years as a Galaxy player between 2007 and 2012, helping the club win two MLS Cups before heading to Paris Saint-Germain.

A few hours before the game kicked off on Sunday night, the 48-year-old was seen signing autographs, posing for photos and waving to fans of his former team.

Around him, stars from the world of sports and showbiz descended on Dignity Health Sports Park to catch a glimpse of Messi and Miami.

Hollywood legend Halle Berry and her partner, the singer-songwriter Van Hunt, were among the crowd for the MLS game, as was tennis icon Novak Djokovic.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion was seen on the sideline before the game. So were several NFL stars including Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua.

Nacua, who enjoyed a record-breaking rookie season in Los Angeles, posed for a picture alongside Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid.

Both NFL players had been gifted personalized LA Galaxy jerseys, as had Green Bay packers cornerback Keisean Nixon.
