David Dickinson’s grandson,18, bags £35k investment as youngest ever Dragon’s Den contestant 

David Dickinson is the real deal when it comes making money.

And it appears his entrepreneurial spirit has passed down the family, as the TV personality’s grandson, Myles Dickinson Brown, has become the youngest solo Dragons’ Den candidate at 18 years old.

Appearing on the show this week, the youngster was seeking a £35,000 investment for 35% of his business, which creates personalised bank cards, from the dragons. 

He took on Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies, Stephen Bartlett and Touker Suleyman on Thursday evening’s show, having just completed his A Levels.

A share was up for grabs in his luxury brand Haze, which creates personalised metal debit and credit cards for £74.99 each.

He invested £5,000 of his own money into the business, which he founded in Manchester in 2021 – after making made the lump sum from buying and selling items on eBay ahead of sitting his GCSEs.

While Myles’ LinkedIn bio describes him as: ‘A university drop off trying to bring the option of customisation to every consumer. Helping e-commerce stores offer customisation on their products.’

As the dragons asked where he gets his entrepreneurial spirit, he said his father started up a mortgage firm with no qualifications, before revealing his famous family connection.

‘My dad he runs a mortgage business,’ he said. ‘No qualifications. He made his own way.

‘My grandad’s on TV. He’s on Dickinson’s Real Deal,’ he said. ‘He’s a TV presenter. David Dickinson.’ Jones said, ‘He’s really good’ to which Myles joked: ‘He’s alright.’

Peter and Touker offered all the money he wanted for the 35 per cent he asked for, but ultimately, Myles opted for Stephen’s offer.

This included all the money for 35 per cent, as well as promising to sit him in his office ‘2ft from my desk’ to work with his TikTok extraordinaires.

‘I feel great, ecstatic,’ Myles said on shaking with the social media mogul.. ‘With Stephen on board it will help loads with mentorship and bringing confidence to myself.

‘It’s tough as an 18-year-old trying to establish something.’ Myles is also the co-founder of Blatant Skin, a brand created ‘to end the stigma behind men’s skincare’.

He studied Finance, Investment and Risk Management at the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

His antiques dealer grandfather has presented shows including Bargain Hunt, The David Dickinson Show and David Dickinson’s Name Your Price. He is married to Lorne Lesley with whom he has two children.

David and his other grandson Finley previously featured together on ITV game show Big Star’s Little Star in 2014.
