Sunrise host David Koch SLAMS a major Hollywood star for being rude to Sonia Kruger on the Oscars red carpet
Sunrise host David Koch has unleashed on a major Hollywood star who had an awkward run-in with Sonia Kruger at the Oscars on Sunday.
The 63-year-old breakfast TV host labelled showbusiness reporter Mario Lopez a ‘d**k’ during an interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday.
Mario, 46, had tried to steal actor Brad Pitt away from Sonia as she was interviewing him on the red carpet but wasn’t successful.

David praised his colleague for handling the situation so well.
‘She put the shoulder down,’ he said. ‘[It] looked like she’d elbowed him in the cods.’
Sonia was reporting live for Sunrise at the Academy Awards on Sunday night and interviewed a host of stars.

But she was forced to palm off Mario as he interrupted her chat with Brad.
In footage from the red carpet, Sonia could be heard saying ‘Back off, Mario!’ as he attempted to move in on her interview.
Reflecting on the incident on Tuesday, Sonia said: ‘Did you see [Mario] trying to get in on my interview? I’m like, “Get your mitts off my Pitt!”‘

Meanwhile, Seven’s coverage of the Oscars was not without its hiccups.
At one stage, Sonia was left red-faced when David Koch asked her to pull a bizarre red carpet prank on Sharon Osbourne.
During a live cross from the ceremony in LA, David told Sonia to ask the British reality star if she knew she was in the 1992 film Strictly Ballroom.
‘Sharon, did you know I was in Strictly Ballroom?’ Sonia asked rather sheepishly.

Sharon initially appeared surprised by the question, before telling Sonia that she loved the film.
‘No, get out of here!’ she said. ‘Oh my god, I love that movie! Love, love.’
Making the cringeworthy moment even worse, Sonia then told Sharon that she had played the film’s villain, Tina Sparkle.
‘Oh, I bow down to you,’ Sharon responded, but it appeared she was just being polite and had never heard of her character.
New year, new network! Sonia’s red carpet coverage heralds her return to the Seven Network after almost a decade working for Channel Nine
