Davina McCall ‘spent Christmas Day with estranged husband’

She admitted to feeling ‘lonely’ over the Christmas period after announcing her split from her husband of 17 years last month.

Yet Davina McCall, 50, reportedly spent the holiday with ex Matthew Robinson, 48, as the amicable exes wanted to ensure their children’s happiness remained their top priority.

It was also claimed by The Sun, that the pair – who share three children Holly, 16, Tilly 14, and 11-year-old son Chester – secretly split four months ago but continued to live together for the sake of their kids.

An insider told the paper:  ‘Watching the way they interact, you would never know that they had split, as they are still extremely good friends.

‘Their well-being has always been their primary concern so, while of course the split has been painful for them both, there was still lots of laughter and happiness on the day.’

The source added: ‘When they finally made the painful decision to separate it was a very slow process as neither of them wanted it to have a negative impact on the children.’

MailOnline has contacted Davina’s representatives for comment.

On Christmas Day, Davina recorded a video message for her fans to wish them seasons greetings – but also to reassure those ‘feeling a bit lonely’.

Speaking to the camera, the TV presenter said: ‘Hey everybody – I just wanted to say a very happy Christmas and I wanted to also say happy Christmas to anybody who’s feeling a bit lonely.

‘I think it’s one of those days, isn’t it? Where, sometimes even if you’re in a huge group of people it’s quite possible to feel lonely or if you’ve lost someone you really care about, and this is your first Christmas without them, or if you couldn’t get home to your family.

‘Anyway, I’m sending everybody a great big Christmassy hug. It’s only a day, and if you are feeling terrible, cuddle up with a duvet, make yourself some food as that’s a nice act of self-love, and go watch some funny Christmas films.

‘Lots of love, and I’ll be back at some point on Instagram this week.’
