Davinson Sanchez has revealed Tottenham’s stars will have no problems playing with Harry Kane this season even though he wants to move to Manchester City this summer.

The Spurs and England star striker first told Tottenham of his desire to leave the club for Premier League champions City back in May, when Spurs’ chances of playing Champions League football this season had eradicated.

City have seen a £100million bid for Kane rejected this summer with Spurs owner Daniel Levy demanding a £150m price tag and Sportsmail revealed Pep Guardiola’s side are preparing an improved offer before the end of the transfer window.

Spurs defender Sanchez, who played the entirety of his side’s 1-0 victory over City on Sunday, claims Kane has earned the right to be supported by his Tottenham team-mates even if he does not get the move away he desires.

The Colombian defender said, via The Sun: ‘If he has the chance to be with us on the pitch then of course he’s going to help us, no doubt about it.

‘Everybody here knows just how professional he is and no one can have any doubts about how good he is as a player.

‘We are just on his side and any decision that happens or he makes then we are going to support him, because he gives everything for the club.

‘In my position, he helps me a lot as a player and as a leader he’s been very humble. I could keep going, I will never stop about how good he is as a person.’

Kane has been Tottenham’s leading man up front and finished as the Premier League’s top goalscorer on 23 goals and top assist-maker with 14 lay-offs.

The 27-year-old is Spurs’ second-highest goalscorer of all-time with 221 goals while he also has 38 goals in 61 caps for England, who he captains at international level.

Sanchez claims Kane is the outstanding centre forward in the world at present but refused to comment on whether he thinks the Tottenham talisman is staying for the season.

The defender added: ‘Harry is the best No 9 in the world, there’s no doubt about it. If someone says differently they just do not understand football.

‘I’m his team-mate so I can’t get deep into the situation because it’s one that is being discussed between Harry and the people above.

‘We are just here to support him and if something happens then we are always going to be on his side.’

Sportsmail revealed this week that City are unlikely to return for Kane should they fail to secure his signature by the end of the transfer window on August 31.

As it stands, City are unwilling to match Tottenham’s valuation of £150m, even though they do intend to make an improved offer on the rejected £100m bid before the window closes at the end of the month.

Etihad chiefs believe they will get full value out of a mega-money swoop for Kane this transfer window with the striker’s age becoming an increasingly important factor in any move next year.

Kane turns 29 before the start of next season, which would likely result in City cooling their interest in 2022.
