Dawn French shares hilarious throwback snap of herself dressed as an Easter rabbit alongside comedy partner Jennifer Saunders

Dawn French got into the Easter spirit on Friday as she shared a throwback snap of herself dressed in a brown rabbit costume alongside Jennifer Saunders.

The comedian, 65, took to Instagram to share the hilarious snap of herself and her comedy partner, 64, writing: ‘Happy Easter all.’

Dawn had a big smile on her face while wearing the costume which was fluffy in design and came with huge bunny ears.

She was all smiles as she posed alongside Jennifer who looked like Dorothy from the Wizard Of Oz in her blue dress and alice band.

It picture comes after Dawn reprised her iconic fringed bob to transform into Claudia Winkleman for a Red Nose Day sketch with Jennifer.

The Vicar Of Dibley star, who recently ditched her iconic hairstyle for a natural grey look, was the spitting image of the Strictly Come Dancing host, 51, in a playful Instagram snap as they filmed a skit based on her hit BBC series The Traitors.

The sketch, which appeared as part of BBC’s Red Nose Day telethon last month, saw Dawn reunite with her longtime comedy partner Jennifer, as they assemble Claudia for a ‘discussion full of twists and turns,’ according to the BBC.

In the snap, Dawn is eerily similar to Claudia as they both sport the same raven-haired bob with a blunt fringe.

The actress captioned her post: ‘Coming soon…#traitors #comicrelief.’

On the snap she added captions naming Claudia, but then tagged herself: ‘Also Claudia Winkle.’

BBC bosses revealed that Claudia and Dawn would appear alongside Jennifer and Bake Off star Mary Berry in a sketch based on The Traitors.

Comic Relief’s founder Richard Curtis gave the news during Claudia Winkleman’s Radio 2 show.

Curtis, 66, revealed the first celebrity to join the star-studded sketch will be chef and food writer Dame Mary Berry.

Dawn French – who plays Claudia Winkleman in the sketch – will gather Faithful and Traitors celebrities for a debate full of twist and turns.

The real Claudia Winkleman told the BBC: ‘I can’t wait for people to see this sketch. I’m so grateful to Comic Relief for putting the whole thing together. I feel like I’m in an alternate universe, and I like it.’

Jennifer Saunders, 64, said: ‘Worst day of my life, I don’t know why I agree to these things. The only reason why I agreed to this one was to meet Mary Berry.’

Dawn French said: ‘This was the second worst day of my life. The absolute worst one was meeting Jennifer Saunders.

‘The only reason I agreed to this one was to show Claudia Winkleman the horror that awaits her in the mirror in 30 years’ time…’

Richard Curtis said: ‘I’m unbelievably excited about this sketch. The Traitors is the most brilliant reality show of all time, and I hope that we can mercilessly tear it apart.

‘There’s a very impressive group of actors who gathered together to destroy the reputation of Claudia Winkleman and the BBC in aid of Comic Relief.’
