DC crowds – White House – thumbs down for Trump motorcade

Joe Biden fans descended on the streets of Washington D.C. to celebrate his victory over President Donald Trump on Saturday, joining massive celebrations across the United States after days of intense ballot counting in crucial swing states.

And as the now lame duck president arrived back at the White House following a game of golf in Virginia, he was greeted with loud boos and hundreds of middle fingers from Americans ready for him to get out of office.

Fed up passerbys also honked their car horns and hurled insults as they drove past Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump’s DC home.

People could be heard screaming ‘He’s Fired’ and ‘Go Home’ as they made their way past the home.

Biden supporters choked back tears of relief and hugged each other along Black Lives Matter plaza before huge crowds gathered outside the White House holding banners telling Trump ‘You’re fired’.

At nearby Dupont Circle, a street party broke out with hundreds playing music, singing, dancing and marching toward the seat of government where there will soon be a new president.

Biden was called the next president at 11.25am Saturday morning by television networks and the Associated Press, while Donald Trump played golf.

CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, the AP and USA Today all made the call and Fox News followed suit 10 minutes later as votes in Philadelphia pushed his margin in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania over the edge.

This took him to 273 electoral votes – over the 270 needed to win the White House race.

Trump refused to accept the loss, claiming Biden was trying to ‘falsely pose’ as the winner and vowing to keep challenging results he claims are a ‘fraud’ as he appeared glum on his return to the White House.

Celebrations took place in various cities across the United States. Trump and Biden supporters did clash in some cities on Saturday, as seen in Lansing, Michigan.
