A Death In Paradise star looked worlds away from his usual looks in the BBC detective drama as they transformed for a new role.

Tahj Miles, 23, who played police officer Marlon Pryce in the series, has had a dramatic new look since quitting the BBC show earlier this year.

The actor has transformed into a young school boy, playing the character Daniel, in a new BBC series Mr Loverman.

In his new role, Tahj sports a tailored school uniform in comparison to his grown up policeman uniform.

The Caribbean-based detective series revealed ‘heart and soul’ of the show, Officer Marlon Pryce (Tahj) would be departing after three years on set.

Fans were left reeling, quipping that his character left ‘too soon’ on March 3, after it was announced he would be heading to Kingston, Jamaica with his sister Jocelyn (Miai Leonie Phillip), who had bagged a scholarship.

The upcoming eight-part drama, which is airing this autumn, is based on the best-selling 2013 novel Mr Loverman, which was written by Bernardine Evaristo.

Lennie James is also starring in the exciting new drama, playing a lively protagonist Barrington Jedidiah Walker.

Olivier Award-winning actress Sharon D Clarke will be portraying Carmel Walker, Barrington’s wife.

The synopsis reads: ‘Barrington Jedidiah Walker, Barry to his mates, is a seventy-four-year-old, Antiguan-born, exuberant Hackney personality, renowned for his dapper taste and fondness for retro suits.

‘Carmel, his wife of 50 years, senses that Barry has been cheating on her with other women.

‘Little does she know what’s really going on: a secret, passionate affair with his best friend and soulmate, Morris.

‘Now facing the final chapter of his life, Barry has big choices to make that will force his whole family to question their futures.

‘Bringing to life Bernardine Evaristo’s ground-breaking exploration of Britain’s older Caribbean community, ‘Mr Loverman’ is a life-affirming story about family, love, and being true to yourself.’

Mr Loverman will also include appearances from EastEnders star Suzette Llewellyn, Joyride actor Lochlann O Mearain and Boiling Point star Hopi Grace.

Top Boy star Llewella Gideon, Sex Education actress Doreene Blackstock, The Split’s Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Juliet Garricks and Clint Dyer will also be starring in the new series.
