She’s been a prominent figure on television and magazine covers ever since she was 16 years old.

And Deborah Hutton, 59, has revealed her biggest fashion mistake came early in her career, in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday.

‘It was hilarious,’ said the Find Me a Beach House host, reflecting on her outfit at the 1988 Bicentennial Wool Collection fashion parade.

‘It was my first live television gig,’ the blonde beauty recalled of her appearance alongside host Michael Parkinson at the Sydney Opera House event.

‘I wore this screaming red satin Covers dress – off the shoulder, black lace bodice – with black long gloves and these ridiculous Yves Saint Laurent earrings that were as big as my hair,’ laughed Deborah.

Later in the interview, Hutton revealed she was ‘horrified’ during her first modelling job at age 16.

The Cosmopolitan fashion editor told the teenager that she would not be wearing a bra beneath her jacket for the shoot.

‘I look terrified on the cover in this jacket that reveals my lack of breasts,’ recalled Deborah.

The 59-year-old, who will turn 60 in December, credits cutting out alcohol and sugar for recently shedding six kilograms.

‘I’m 60 in December and, it’s hilarious, but I feel better than I’ve ever felt,’ she told Stellar magazine this month.

‘I’ve really focused on my health and I feel so much stronger. I’m not really calorie counting, just making sure that I’m consuming less,’ she added.

‘I love cooking, so it’s really exciting making beautiful meals with lots of vegetables and spices. I’m drinking lots of water and then a couple of times a week I’ll have shakes with all those good probiotics and stuff.’

The model has added a stationary bike to her routine, as well as walking and golf games.

She also takes melatonin to help keep her sleep in check, and has been meditating to keep herself calm.

The TV star previously credited milk thistle with giving her flawless, youthful skin.
