It was a hugely frustrating night for everyone associated with Tottenham on Wednesday but things especially got a little bit too much for Dele Alli.
Tottenham fell to a lacklustre 1-0 defeat at home to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, with Timo Werner scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
As Tottenham desperately chased for an equaliser in the second half, Alli was hauled off by manager Jose Mourinho for Erik Lamela in the 64th minute – much to the anger of the England international.

After learning of his fate and walking back to the dugout, Alli decided to launch his water bottle on the floor before taking off his boots and throwing them aggressively down to the ground.
And as Alli’s boots rebounded off the floor and straight back up into the air, they nearly smashed Gedson Fernandes – who was replaced at the same time as his team-mate – straight in the face.
Alli watched on silently for the rest of the game as Tottenham failed to find an all-important leveller to take over to Germany for the second leg.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side are in a commanding position after Werner emphatically slotted home his penalty in the 58th minute.
Ben Davies was the man guilty of giving the spot-kick away, after clumsily tripping up Konrad Lainer in the Tottenham penalty area.
Spurs desperately pushed for a way back into the match and had a golden chance to level through Lucas Moura right at the death.
However, the Brazilian’s header sailed way over the crossbar much to the relief of Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
