Bodycam footage shows a police deputy calling a white Florida woman a ‘psycho’ before she allegedly shot dead her black neighbor after a dispute over her children playing in the yard.
Susan Lorincz, 58, is accused of shooting mother-of-four Ajike ‘AJ ‘ Owens, 35, dead in front of Owens’ young son after a bitter two-year dispute between the pair came to a tragic end on June 2. It was announced June 26 that she will not be charged with murder.
The footage released by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office shows the multiple times Lorincz called the cops on Owens over various kids from the neighborhood playing near her Ocala apartment.
The officers can be seen clearly exasperated with Lorincz in one of the cuts, which led to an officer calling her a ‘psycho,’ with Owens suggesting mental problems.
One of the clips of the dozen-plus time she called the police shows Lorincz – an insurance broker – complaining about the level of noise.

‘When they come on the side here I just can’t hear my clients,’ she told police. ‘That’s not fair to me.’
She also accuses Owens of responding to her attempts to get rid of the kids by throwing a ‘No Trespassing’ sign at her.
‘Honestly I think she has a mental disorder,’ Owens said of the woman who would one day shoot her.
In a clip from last August, she tells the officers that the children are ‘calling me b***h’ and cursing at her, with Lorincz making it a point to say that she is a ‘doctor’ who needs quiet.
The deputies noted that the rental apartment she lived in and the area around it was not her property.
The neighbors are clearly fed up with Lorincz’s behavior toward the children.
‘She is literally crazy,’ one says. ‘All they do is play football over there. She yells at them and when an adult says something she calls the police.’
At one point, Lorincz points out that she’s from New Jersey and that children are ‘never, never like this. These people are hooligans.’

‘I understand it’s a nuisance,’ one of the sheriff’s deputies is heard telling Lorincz. ‘But I’d rather kids be screaming because they’re out here playing and having a good time than stealing cars and robbing people.’
State Attorney, William Gladson, confirmed that Lorincz would be charged with manslaughter because there was ‘insufficient evidence’ to prove she had a ‘depraved mind’ when she allegedly shot dead Owens in Ocala, Florida.
In a statement, he confirmed he had been considering charging Lorincz with second-degree murder – but will instead charge her with manslaughter with a firearm – which she could face up to 30 years in prison.
He said: ‘Given the facts in this case, aiming a firearm at the door, and pulling the trigger is legally insufficient to prove a depraved mind.
‘Case law has consistently held that extreme recklessness or impulsive overreactions are, in and of themselves, insufficient to prove second-degree murder.

‘Since the night of the defendant’s arrest in this case, I have indicated that I would be transparent in my decision-making process. Prior to making this decision, my office consulted with the victim’s family, and their attorney.
‘The defendant will be prosecuted for the offense of manslaughter with a firearm, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison. My office will do all it can to seek justice for Ms. Owens and her family.’
Lorincz was arrested four days after the fatal confrontation and admitted to cops that she shot Owens through her front door when the mom approached her property amid a row over her children ‘trespassing’ and arguing with Lorincz.’
She remains in Marion County Jail after appearing in court in a suicide prevention vest – or turtle suit – on June 8.
Lorincz, who has lived in the area for 15 years, told officers that she ‘feared for her life’ during the incident.
The affidavit shows there were two surveillance cameras inside Lorincz’s home, with one facing the patio and the other attached to the sliding door.
Lorincz, an insurance agent, claimed that the cameras were functional but only record motion and ‘at night sometimes do not capture anything.’
Lorincz wore a suicide-prevention vest and spoke to confirm her name and date of birth before telling the court that she had filed for disability at her court hearing on June 8

Lorincz, an insurance agent, told police during her interview that Owens’ children had been ‘trespassing’ on her property in Ocala, Florida, and one threatened to ‘beat her up’
The cameras are accessible through her phone, and after initially declining to give the passcode, Lorincz handed over the phone.
Officers could not see any recording after 8.40pm the night of the incident, but Lorincz denied deleting any recordings.
Lorincz was left in possession of her phone for two hours after being placed inside of a police car – and footage shows her accessing it briefly.
However, it is unclear what she did on the phone from the view of the camera, and it was subsequently taken into evidence.
Lorincz told cops that Owens’ children had been ‘trespassing’ on her property, with neighbors revealing that she ‘had a problem with kids’ and would record them before taunting them with slurs as well as waving her guns around in their direction.
Phyllis Wills, 33, told NBC that Lorincz would ‘harass’ her kids, adding: ‘Everybody in this neighborhood has feuded with this lady over our children.’
Other parents said they called her a ‘Karen’ after she repeatedly filmed their children and called the police about their antics.
Owens went over to Lorincz’s home to confront her over allegations she threw a rollerblade at one of her children earlier in the day and smashed a tablet, before swinging an umbrella
The women lived across the road from each other and Lorincz had called 911 at 8.54pm on June 2 to complain that the children were trespassing and shouting outside her door
An arrest affidavit revealed Lorincz told 911 that a ‘female tried to break down her door while yelling’ so she shot her
‘It’s an apartment complex. These are children who, you know, they’re, they’re going to do things,’ Willis said.
‘Every time they’ve went even in the patch of grass over there, she would be like, ‘Get off of my lawn, you b****** or you retards or you N-word.’ She would wave guns at them.’
When interviewed by police, one of Owens’ sons claimed that Lorincz had previously called them ‘B******’ and ‘jack****s’ as well as saying: ‘This isn’t the underground railroad, slave.’

Minutes later, officers then received several other emergency calls advising shots heard in the area, with Lorincz calling again to say that a ‘female tried to break down her door while yelling’ and she shot her.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said Lorincz’s version of events was ‘BS’ as accounts from Owens’ children matched surveillance footage from a neighbor’s home
Owens’ family lawyer Ben Crump is calling for the charges to be increased to murder, as well as an additional case for ‘racially abusing’ the children
Owens reportedly told her son, 12, to call 911 after she was hit by the bullet, with the young boy telling officers she ‘was only knocking on the door’. She was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
Lorincz said that she fired the Remington 380 gun and admitted to owning a 22 Ruger – claiming she only purchased the gun ‘for protection after an altercation’ with Owens.
She told cops that she felt like she was in ‘mortal danger’ and was ‘fearful for her life’, before claiming she ‘never intended to hit the victim’ and she ‘hit really high’.
Authorities had come under pressure to arrest and charge Lorincz in a case that has put Florida’s divisive stand-your-ground law back into the spotlight – with Sheriff Woods describing it as ‘simply a killing.’
Lawyers for Owens’ family are now calling for the charges to be increased to murder, as well as an additional case for ‘racially abusing’ the children.
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump said: ‘There’s evidence there to increase the charges. Especially when you think about what happened, with her harassing the children with racial epithets and profanity.’
