New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters has blasted Senator Fraser Anning as a ‘jingoistic moron’ and a ‘fluke’ over his anti-Muslim comments following the Christchurch massacre.
Mr Peters, 73, spoke out against the Queensland politician ahead of the Australian’s Senate censure motion on Tuesday.
The New Zealand leader pulled no punches labelling Anning ‘a national, absolute, democratic aberration’ and calling his response to the attack a ‘disgrace.’
‘I could call him a four-flushing, jingoistic moron, but you already know that in Australia,’ he told Sky News.

He called Anning an ‘absolute fluke’ saying he landed in the Senate ‘by pure accident,’ referring to how he was elected with just 19 votes.
‘It means you have to clean up your political system to avoid that sort of person making it into politics,’ he said.
Senator Anning has come under fire after he suggested there was a ‘link between Muslim immigration and violence’ shortly after the Christchurch mosque attack.
He later released a statement condemning ‘any form of violence’ but reiterated his anti-Islamic views and said Muslims are ‘usually the perpetrators.’
The senator was even involved in a public scuffle with a 17-year-old boy who smashed an egg on his head after making the controversial remarks.
He has been criticised by both Australian and New Zealand politicians including Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Prime Minister Scott Morrison who called his comments ‘disgusting.’

The 69-year-old has remained unapologetic and said he had ‘no remorse’ during his appearance in Parliament on Tuesday.
In a previous interview, Senator Anning said: ‘All I’ve said is that countries that have Muslim immigration invariably have escalation in violence and terrorist attacks and murders.
‘And we don’t learn from countries who have allowed this indiscriminate immigration, which is what we have in this country.’
The situation resulted in a petition calling for his resignation which garnered more than one million signatures.
Australia’s Senate will vote to publicly admonish the senator in a censure which Senator Anning called a ‘blatant attack on free speech.
