Dermott Brereton’s face says it all as Alastair Lynch drops the F-bomb on Fox Footy

Australian football legend Dermott Brereton was captured on camera struggling to maintain his composure after co-commentator Alastair Lynch dropped the F-bomb.

The slip of the tongue was heard on live television on Sunday afternoon as the pair discussed the upcoming clash between Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs.

While Lynch handled the slip of the tongue like a pro, it was co-commentator Brereton’s follow-up expression that stole the show.

In discussing the ruck battle, Lynch was aiming for the word ‘focus’, but what actually came out of his mouth was anything but.

Brereton, who was known for his aggressive playing style during his time with Hawthorn, was almost unable to contain himself, having to take a moment to close his eyes and recompose while his co-commentator continued to speak straight through the blunder.

Social media users took to Twitter and Reddit to comment on the moment and Brereton’s hilarious reactions.

‘I heard this live while I was in the kitchen and thought my ears were playing tricks on me,’ one user wrote.

‘Derm’s face is priceless,’ added another.

The blunder itself, it appears, was far less noticeable than the reaction it garnered from Brereton.

‘Dermie’s expression is pretty spot on too tbf [to be fair]. If he didn’t make that face then Al could’ve gotten away with it.’

Since retirement, Lynch’s career has developed into commentating for Fox Footy. He played first grade football for the Brisbane Lions for more than 300 games, earning his team three premiership titles.
