Desperate search for a man whose boat capsized in crocodile-infested waters

  • Police are looking for a man whose boat capsized on Saturday in the NT
  • Two of his crewmates have been found safe but a third is still missing
  • The group were on a channel between Old Mission and Dorcherty Island 

A large search effort is underway in the Northern Territory for man missing after the boat he was on capsized.

Police were told about the capsized boat near the town of Wadeye, southwest of Darwin, at about 7.30pm on Saturday.

It was on a channel between the mainland near Old Mission and Dorcherty Island to the north.

Two people on the boat have been accounted for but a third is still presumed missing in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf.

An air, sea and land search is now underway for the missing man with police, rangers and local groups searching the water and coastline.
