Detectives launch large-scale forensic search of remote bushland for William Tyrrell

Police will address the media tomorrow at the commencement of a large-scale forensic search as part of ongoing investigations into the 2014 disappearance of William Tyrrell.

Shortly before 10.30am on Friday 12 September 2014, William, then aged three, was playing in the yard of his grandmother’s home on Benaroon Drive in Kendall, New South Wales when he disappeared.

For the next ten days, hundreds of local residents and emergency services workers combined to search the rural township, looking in forests, creeks and paddocks for the boy.

The initial search, while extensive, was focused only on finding William – a little boy who was lost – and not with a view of deliberate human intervention.

William was not located, and the search did not uncover any evidence relevant to his disappearance.
