This is the adorable moment a determined pooch drops his ball down a playground slide so he can play fetch by himself.

The clip, filmed in Walsall in the West Midlands, captures Zippy the dog as he runs to the top of a playground slide with a bright yellow ball in his mouth.

He places the toy, which is attached to a black rope, at the top of the slide before chasing after it when it begins to fall to the playground below.

Rescue pup Zippy then grabs the ball in his mouth again as it hits the tarmac – and he races back to the top of the slide to repeat his game.

He drops the ball down the slide, tail wagging in joy, half a dozen times before the video ends. 

The clip, posted to Facebook by Wayne Pearce, has since been viewed more than 350,000 times.

Mr Pearce said: ‘So what was the point of buying a fit bit? Zippy happy entertaining himself.’

The video has also received hundreds of comments from viewers who have praised Zippy’s behaviour. 

One said: ‘Who’s a good boy?!?!’
