Detroit Lions fans react to Sione Vaki’s hidden talent as NFL rookie shows off remarkable skill ahead of new season

  • Sione Vaki is vying for a roster spot after being taken in the fourth round
  • But he also has an incredible talent off the field that he’s now revealed

Detroit Lions rookie Sione Vaki showed off a remarkable hidden talent after practice on Thursday – and left fans stunned in the process.

Vaki, a running back out of Utah, was described as having a ‘phenomenal voice’ by head coach Dan Campbell before the fourth-round pick sang for the media.

The 23-year-old performed a part of  ‘East Side High 2012 & Forever’ by BJ the Chicago Kid and sounded incredible as he showed off his soulful and smooth voice.

Vaki even hit a falsetto at one point before wrapping up his performance.

His pipes drew rave reviews online as tons of fans shared their reactions to X.

‘BRO HAS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL,’ one said.

‘He was actually meant to be a singer,’ another added.

A different supporter suggested that he perform America’s national anthem before a game.

And another was feeling bullish about the Lions after watching Vaki’s singing.

‘We really got the best team in the NFL,’ they wrote.

A different X user even tagged Jason Kelce under a video of the performance, urging the ex-Eagles center to feature him on his next Christmas album.

Before Vaki sang, Campbell mentioned that he also produced a previously ‘eh’ performance for his teammates, but his rendition on Thursday was certainly anything but.

The running back finds himself buried on the depth chart behind David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs and Craig Reynolds, but made an impression in Detroit’s most recent previous preseason game vs. the Chiefs.

He finished with six carries for 22 yards to go along with four catches for 60 receiving yards.

The NFL’s deadline for final roster cuts is August 27.
