It’s already had a drubbing from critics but enthusiastic fans of the Fifty Shades franchise have been left bereft at the end of their much-loved trilogy, with many breaking down in the cinema.
Devoted viewers took to Twitter to admit they were in tears at watching the final installment of the tortured love story of Ana and Christian Grey in which the couple formalise their erotic union by tying the knot.
One viewer said she was in tears watching the film as shes ‘a girl just tryna have that life’, while others admitted they were devastated that the films are now all ove.
Another said Rita Ora’s performance as Christian’s sister had made her well up, while a devoted fan of the series even admitted she would be feeling ’emotional for weeks’ after watching the final installment.
And a confused viewer said they felt like they were supposed to feel turned on by watching it, but instead they found themselves sobbing.
Fans of the Fifty Shades franchise have been breaking down in tears over the final film in the trilogy, despite a poor critical reception

Although critics were not impressed by the final installment of the 50 Shades trilogy, devoted fans admitted they were in tears in the cinema
Another heartbroken fan admitted they couldn’t believe it was all over and said it was their favourite of all the films so far.
Although author E. L. James has followed up the first two books with Grey and Darker, which tell the same story from Christian’s point of view, and is working on the final installment, there are no plans for another film.
This will no doubt delight critics who slammed it despite desperate attempts by studio executives to stop them from attending screenings.
Review screenings of Fifty Shades Freed, which was released in the UK today, have been limited to those journalists who flew out to Paris for the European premiere.

Man fans were disappointed that there won’t be a fourth film, even though E. L. James has continued writing books from Christian’s point of view
Unusually, the movie was not given a premiere in UK, despite the British roots of series author E. L. James, and no previews were arranged for British critics.
The tactics failed to stop critics from panning the film, however, as viewers complained of cringeworthy dialogue and ‘dull’ chemistry between its two stars.
The Hollywood Reporter wrote: ‘Closing the book on what’s arguably one of the worst film franchises in recent memory, Fifty Shades Freed doesn’t quite end with the bang one would hope for.’

The magazine’s critic Jordan Mintzer also called its stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Fanning ‘one of the duller couples to ever grace the screen’.
The Herald Sun in Australia added: ‘The whole experience has been like a bad Tinder date that lasted three years.’
On film ratings website Rotten Tomatoes, the film scored just 6 out of 100, making it among the worst-ranking films of the year so far.
A review by Stuff read: ‘Add it all up, and Fifty Shades Freed was pretty much doomed to be exactly the highly glossed, deeply tedious and incontrovertibly lousy pile of old rubbish that it is.’

While Filmink in Australia added: ‘It’s marginally better than its predecessor in much the same way that being shot through the head is better than being guillotined.’
Despite atrocious reviews the film is still expected to top the box office this weekend and beyond, with all three films in the trilogy proving to be a commercial success.
The first two films, Fifty Shades of Grey and Fifty Shades Darker, were both panned by critics but still generated more than £700million in ticket sales.
Star Jamie Dornan, 35, ruled himself out of returning to the racy film franchise – based on author E. L. James’ popular novel series – in the future, as he claims he’s ‘getting too old’ to reprise his role again.
During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Monday, the heartthrob said when asked if he was finished with Fifty Shades: ‘Yeah I think so, there’s no other books. We’ve done the three… Unless Erica writes more… I know I’m getting too old for this.’
His interview comes days after he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ US chat show, where he revealed that his wife Amelia hasn’t yet seen him in the risqué franchise.

The Fifty Shades franchised was launched in 2011 after the release of Fifty Shades of Grey by British author E. L. James.
The novel focused on the relationship between a university graduate, Anastasia Steele, and her business magnate lover Christian Grey.
Featuring explicit sexual scenes and elements of bandage, the book was a huge hit, topping bestseller lists around the world and selling more than 125 copies.
Despite a poor critical reception, the novel became the fastest selling paperback of all time in the UK.
Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, the second and third novels in the trilogy, were released in 2015 to similar commercial success.
- Fifty Shades Freed is out across the UK on February 9.
