Device that will charge your phone in SEVEN SECONDS is set to hit the market later this year for £180

  • Qatari-developed product contains magnetic batteries that stick to the phone
  • Each battery pack will weigh roughly the same as two AA batteries

There are few things more annoying than when you are about to leave the house and realise you have forgotten to charge your phone.

But a Qatari tech firm has developed a solution to this problem – a machine that fully recharges a mobile phone in seven seconds.

Called the Swapery, the at-home device dispenses light-weight battery packs which magnetically stick to the back of the phone and are connected to the charging port on the underside of the mobile.

Waiting a long time to charge your devices may soon be a thing of the past once the ‘Swapery’ hits the market later this year

The battery packs each weigh roughly the same as two AA batteries and are compatible with all smartphones.

Users insert their phone into the Swapery, which automatically removes the used battery and replaces it with one that is fully charged.

The device, expected to cost around £180 and to be released in the UK later this year, can hold five charged battery packs at once, which its creators say makes it ideal for a family.

‘Modern smartphones run out of battery very quickly and it easy to forget to charge them,’ says Ali Salah, creator of the Swapery.

‘With our device, you won’t need to worry about remembering to put your phone on charge before bed or deal with charging cables ever again.’
