A Department of Homeland Security officer was put on leave after praising Hamas and sharing extremist content on social media – including one post where she wrote, ‘F*** Israel … we are ready for your downfall.’
Nejwa Ali, 36, who joined the US Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2019 and held the position of an asylum officer, was placed on leave on Wednesday, following the revelation of her controversial history.
She works at assisting asylum seekers through the immigration process, before moving to Homeland Security earlier this year.
Along with years of alarming social media posts, it was also revealed that she previously served as a spokesperson for the Palestinian Liberation Organization , led by Yasser Arafat, which has been called a terrorist organization by the US.
In one recent post, Ali shared a disturbing image featuring paragliders armed with AK-47s with the caption ‘Free Palestine,’ glorifying the terrorists responsible for killing over 1,400 innocent lives in Israel.

She claimed all Israelis should be held accountable for their government’s actions if they do not condemn Israel.
‘Israeli, American privilege is disgusting. When Israelis acknowledge the government and military are solely responsible for the attack. Period,’ she wrote. ‘I hold every Israeli accountable for their governments actions, IF they do not speak against Israel.’
Additionally, on October 9, Ali shared a post on Facebook titled ‘How Nejwa wakes up,’ along with a video captioned ‘F*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel.’
She featured a photo that declared, ‘A nation that has nothing but Allah has everything it will ever need,’ alongside an anti-Semitic caricature of a Jewish nose.
Prior to her current position, Ali worked as a public affairs officer for the Palestinian Delegation to the US in 2016 and 2017, according to her LinkedIn profile, which according to its own website, served as the ‘PLO office in D.C.’
When the office was expelled by the Trump administration, Ali secured a job at DHS as an ‘Asylum Officer,’ where she was responsible for ‘applying immigration laws and regulations to asylum applications.’

This year, she began working as an Adjudication Officer for the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), where she was tasked with reviewing applications and make decisions regarding immigration law.
Ali’s social media, including her Instagram, ‘Falastine Mi Amor,’ appears to have been deleted.

The neurology registrar also claimed ‘there are no civilians in Israel’ in her series of abhorrent posts on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In another post, a reply to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressing his support Israel, she said the UK should simply take the Israeli population away from Palestine.
‘Just take all the Israelis to the UK from terrorist Palestine a win for everyone, no?’ she wrote.
