Dillian Whyte ‘finally puts pen to paper on his contract to take on Tyson Fury’

Dillian Whyte ‘SIGNS contract to fight Tyson Fury for the WBC heavyweight title at Wembley on April 23’ in the nick of time… after Gypsy King had taunted him just hours before deadline

  • Dillian Whyte has reportedly signed his contract to face Tyson Fury after a delay
  • The WBC had insisted that Whyte must sign the contract to face Fury by today
  • Fury has sent a message to Whyte urging him to sign the deal or move on
  • And Sky Sports have now claimed that the boxer has finally put pen to paper

Dillian Whyte has finally signed his contract to take on Tyson Fury, according to reports, with their blockbuster heavyweight scrap now set to go ahead.

The fight has been pencilled in for April 23, although Whyte delayed over putting pen to paper until the final hours before the deadline.

Indeed, the WBC insisted the challenger had to confirm that he would take the fight today, with Whyte now sealing the all-British bout.

There were fears that Whyte may not agree to the deal at all as a result of the dispute over the purse split, which favours his opponent by 80-20.

Sky Sports have now claimed that both fighters have inked the contracts, and their scrap is set to be held at Wembley Stadium in London.

As the contract deadline day arrived, Fury took to social media to tell Whyte to sign the contract or move aside.

He said: ‘Today’s the final day for signing the contract, you big dosser.

‘So get it signed, s***house, or move on. Jog on you muppet, get out the way, stiff a***.’

The Gypsy King’s promoter Frank Warren won the rights to promote the bout with a £30million deal, which was confirmed as the biggest purse bid in boxing history.

Whyte remained quiet on the situation, with Fury’s US co-promoter Bob Arum claiming that the Brixton ‘Body Snatcher’ had been asking for more money in order to speak out and promote their fight.

Fury took to social media over the weekend claiming that Whyte wanted more money to turn up for the press conference.

He said: ‘I just heard that little sausage Dillian Whyte wants paying to turn up for a press conference. You little silly fat sausage, you’re getting that [a fist], you coward.’

He later added: ‘Hi guys, just a quick one. I’m setting up a Just Giving page for Dillian Whyte so he can show up to the press conference and I’m going to donate first. My donation is 47p, you useless dosser.’

Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn insisted that his man would sign and the fight would finally get over the line.

Fury also claimed that Whyte had been asking for more money to attend a press conference

If he hadn’t signed, then he would have missed out on a shot at Fury and the world heavyweight championship match he had long been waiting for.

Fury is set to receive around £24m following the purse bid, it is understood.

Mandatory challenger Whyte will secure £6m in his first ever world title bout, which would be his biggest payday.

Talks had previously been in place for Whyte and Anthony Joshua to step aside from fights with Fury and Oleksandr Usyk respectively.

This would have paved the way for Fury to fight Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship, though parties could not come to terms on a deal for this to happen.
