When it comes to asking Santa Claus for a Christmas gift, a new bicycle is a common request for many kids.
But French fashion house Dior is giving big kids with big budgets to match the opportunity to make all their childhood bike dreams come true this festive season, with the release of its $3,200 BMX bike.
Teaming up with French BMX brand Bogarde, Dior Homme creative director, Kris Van Assche hinted at the bike’s release back in October.
Christmas wishlist: Dior Homme has teamed up with French BMX brand Bogarde to create a $2,300 bike just in time for Christmas
Exclusive: Only 70 bikes have been made and are available upon request from select Dior Homme stores
Devil in the detail: The brand’s bike features chrome metalwork and handlebars in their house colors, red and black
Posting a picture of the design propped up against a fireplace on Instagram, as if Santa himself had just delivered it down the chimney, he captioned the black and white snap with the words, ‘coming soon’.
And now Van Assche has released more details about the design, taking to the social media app once again to provide another image of the bike, shot by acclaimed fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.
According to Business of Fashion, only 70 bikes will be produced and will be available upon request at select Dior Homme stores from December 7.
It is the first of three designs, and will also make its debut at the Sole DXB streetwear festival, held between December 7 and 9 in Dubai.
And although the bike is not on sale yet, rapper and BMX enthusiast, Asap Rocky who is also the face of Dior Homme’s Fall Winter 2017 collection, has already been gifted with one of the coveted limited editions, posting a picture of his bike on Instagram on October 10.

The Dior design taps into the brand’s current obsession with all things 90s street culture, and the model in the campaign also reflects this aesthetic.
Styled by Mauricio Nardi, he can be seen perched on the saddle wearing a Dior Homme suit and pair of Dior Homme ‘dad’ sneakers from the brand’s latest collection.
Featuring a chrome tinted frame and handlebars in Dior’s house colors, black and red, the bike also features the Dior logo
An identical Bogarde BMX bike, minus the Dior branding, starts at $1,050. Based in Paris, the company is famed for its 80s and 90s inspired bike designs.
