DIY SOS star Mark Millar said he was left ‘screaming and running around like a nutter’ after being stung by a jellyfish during his holiday to Ibiza.

The television personality and carpenter likened the sting to an ‘electric shock’ as he urged his followers to ‘swim safe.’

Sharing a photo to Instagram on Tuesday, Mark showed off the nasty red mark across his chest and arm.

Alongside the update he explained: ‘Swimming in Ibiza is amazing but look out for this jellyfish there are unusual high numbers of them at the moment.

‘If you get stung, use a credit card to scrape off the sting and pour white vinegar on it and DO NOT jump in to a shower.’

Mark continued: ‘The sting is like an electric shock and you will feel sick and disoriented for a few hours.

‘It also helps with the pain if you run around the beach shouting and screaming like a nutter. Swim safe,’ he joked.

The TV personality is currently hosting the Channel 5 show Build Your Dream Home In The Country after his long-standing stint on DIY SOS.

In February, a couple revealed how they spent £280,000 to transform an ‘ugly’ 1950s red brick house in Hampshire into a huge four-bedroom home, fitted with sleek furnishings and rustic décor while appearing on the show.

Paul and Leigh – both ex police workers who met at a murder scene – ditched their busy lives in Southampton to move to an idyllic village near South Downs National Park.

The pair, who are in their 50s appeared on the show, which followed their project as they doubled the size of their family home with a two-storey extension.

However, while their initial forecast for the project was a maximum of six months after setting off to work in September 2021 – materials delays thanks to Brexit and the pandemic, as well as rising costs, meant the house wasn’t complete until May 2022 and it ran £50,000 over budget.

But once the build was done, presenter Mark, who followed its construction from start to finish, was full of praise for the gorgeous property, lauding its beautiful timber-clad exterior and unrecognisable interior transformation.

Mark praised their home purchase as a ‘really good investment’, lauding their vision to gut the ‘ugly duckling’ house into a home through a ‘huge contemporary makeover’.

However, after three weeks, £50,000 – a quarter of their budget – was already eaten up, with the couple feeling the stress of taking on such a huge project.

Luckily, it all worked out in the end with Mark marvelling at the result, praising their vision and saying it was worth the wait.

The ex police workers admit they ‘probably’ went £40-50,000 over budget – but ‘wouldn’t change a thing’.
