DJ Alex Zane hosts Medicinema Halloween Quiz

DJ Alex Zane has been unveiled as the host of this years Halloween Night Fever Quiz night, which aims to raise money for the Medicinema Charity.

The 38-year-old will host the spooktacular night on Tuesday, with hopes to raise £60,000 for the London-based charity.

The event, which will take place in London’s Cafe De Paris, will include Halloween fancy dress, a three course meal, auction and a live band.

Film buffs will also see their knowledge put to the test with a challenging quiz on all things cinema, from Chaplin to Clooney, and Star Wars to Scream.

Alex said that he loved to support the charity, which helps to bring the experience of the cinema to hospital patients.

He said: ‘Having heard first hand accounts from patients of the difference Medicinema has made to their time in hospital – bringing the wonderful experience of watching films on the big screen right to them – I’m proud to continue supporting their brilliant work.’

Alex has presented a variety of series, including Celebrity Scissorhands, Rude Tube and 8 out of 10 Cats.

He has also been a radio regular, hosting a Friday evening show on NME radio since 2010.

The charity will be striving to aim £60,000 at the event to raise money to run a new Medicinema centre for a year, to add to the seven new centres that are already being run.

Current centres include St Thomas Hospital in London, Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and Southern General Hospital in Glasgow.

Medicinema has been supported by many celebrity patrons, including Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Dame Helen Mirren and the late John Hurt.

Another supporter is Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill, who attended a special screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Guy’s Hospital last year.

The event in honour of Force for Change, allowed children to see the sci-fi action flick on May 4th, otherwise known as Star Wars Day.
