Doctor shares easy hack that soothes migraines in minutes – using two items in your bathroom

A doctor has gone viral after showing an easy method to ease migraines – and it won’t break the bank.

Dr Jason Singh, a physician who shares his expert tips and knowledge with his 96,000 followers on TikTok, uses the ‘two towel method’.

‘You want to grab two rags or short towels,’ he says in his video viewed by over 8.1million people.

‘One needs to be cold, so run it under cold water, and the other under hot water.’

He then advises to wring them both at the same time, before placing the cold rag over your forehead and the hot rag on the back of your neck.

The doctor, from Loudoun County, Virginia, US, continued: ‘[This will] construct your blood vessels and reduce inflammation.

‘While the hot rag goes right behind your neck to improve blood flow and relax the muscles.

‘Keep them on for about five to seven minutes at the same time and then watch your migraine naturally manage.’

Hot and cold compresses have been shown in numerous studies to be effective in reducing the intensity of headaches.

The cold temperature helps to constrict blood vessels and dulls the sensation of pain.

On the other hand, hot compresses work by increasing blood flow to the area, which can help relax tense muscles and relieve tension headaches.

The warmth can also provide a soothing effect, promoting relaxation and reducing stress.

While the technique may work for some people, it may not for others. This is because migraines are caused by different reasons in different people.

Users have taken to the comment section to share their thoughts.
