Dog looks shocked when owner tells her about new puppy

Telling your only child that another baby is on the way can be a challenging task at the best of times.

And breaking the news to your dog that the family is getting another puppy is no easier, it would seem.

This is the hilarious moment a dog appears to do a double take when her owner tells her the family is going to get a new puppy.

Footage from Labadie, Missouri, shows the owner breaking the news to the German Shepherd, called Artie, as she sits in the front seat of a car.

‘Artie, I’ve got some good news,’ she says. ‘You’re going to be a big sister.’

At first, Artie does not appear to register what she is saying.

‘We’re getting a new puppy,’ she continues. ‘You’re going to have a little brother.’
