A dog owner was spotted walking down a street in Scotland with a black pug stood on his shoulders in bizarre footage.

Connor Cassidy, 16, captured the clip in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire when he noticed the man and his dog strolling past as he waited at a bus stop.

But when the teenager, from Coatbridge, asked the man why the black pug was stood on his shoulders, he replied ‘that’s just where the dog likes to be’.

In the clip, the man stops to speak to a group at the bus stop on Craigneuk Street with the small dog perched on his shoulders.

Moments later, he turns to walk away, leaving the teenagers in awe as his small dog remains upright on the man’s back.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Connor said he has seen the man and his pug a few times before in the area.

He said: ‘I’ve seen him a few times and we were talking to him. I asked him why he did it and he said “that’s just where the dog likes to be”. It’s so funny’.

Connor added that the small dog appeared more than happy with the arrangement.

‘The dog’s not got a lead or anything – it’s just standing there. I videoed it because it was just so confusing.

‘The dog looked like it was having a great time.’

The video was posted to Twitter where it has been viewed more than 3,000 times.
