Dog walking duo Helena Bonham Carter and Freddie Highmore show their bond is still as strong as ever – after first appearing together on screen 24 years ago as mother and son

He has praised her as a ‘mother figure’ who helped him get to grips with acting when he was one of Hollywood’s youngest stars.

And it seems that the bond between Freddie Highmore and Helena Bonham Carter – who first appeared together on screen 24 years ago as mother and son – is still as strong as ever.

The pair were spotted chatting and laughing as they took the actress’s two Tibetan terriers for a stroll in North London last week.

Staying true to her trademark eclectic style, the 57-year-old paired black harem-style trousers with a green flowery shirt, colourful socks and black trainers, while Highmore, 31, appeared more muted in black jeans and a jacket, a blue shirt and pink-and-blue baseball cap.

The pair met on the set of the 1999 comedy Women Talking Dirty, in which Highmore, then aged seven and making his screen debut, played Ms Bonham Carter’s son Sam.
