We like to think of dogs as ‘part of the family’, but at first glance you might genuinely mistake this poodle for a real person.

That is because Dou Dou the dog wears human clothes, carries a backpack and walks on two legs.

The animal, who lives in Shanghai, China, has dozens of fancy costumes and has gained lots of admirers for her bizarre habits.

In the footage, the pooch can be seen wearing colourful trousers and a top while carrying a backpack as she jumps into the front seat of a car.

The following scene is perhaps the most bizarre, as Dou Dou can be seen wearing a blue raincoat walking down a street in China.

She meets another dog, who becomes very interested in her and begins sniffing her, but she casually walks away -and the two couldn’t look more different.

Dou Dou can then be seen waltzing down another stret, this time with a monkey-themed backback strapped to her.

She attracts a crowd of astonished people who pull their phones out to capture the moment.

The pup approaches a few bike bollards which are too tall to step over. Instead of getting on four legs and crawling underneath – like a dog would be expected to do – she remains on her two hind legs and walks around the obstacles.
