This pack of hungry dogs showed remarkable restraint when their handler poured a pile of treats under their noses but made them wait before tucking in.
The Beloka Kelpie Stud farm, based in Victoria, Australia, specialise in training Australian Kelpies and educating their owners.
In an August 31 video, the farm proved their money’s worth by having a pack of Kelpies sit in the back of a pick-up truck and leaving a line of food in front of them.
The dogs’ handler tempts the pack with a bucket of tasty treats. He empties out a bucket under their noses at a farm in Victoria, Australia
The Australian Kelpies, which are working dogs, eye the food longingly but testament to their impressive discipline not one of them gives into temptation
The dogs looked expectantly at their handler, waiting eagerly for the green light. But he keeps them in suspense, refusing to give them the go-ahead
The handler pours the food in front of the pack of dogs, whose tongues flop out of their mouths at the sight of the tasty treats.
But, impressively, not one of the animals makes a move forward to devour the food.
Instead, they dutifully heed their handler’s demand to wait, and even refuse to budge when he says, ‘ready, set, go!’
The handler then asks, ‘are you dogs ready?’ Still listening intently but not budging, the dogs watch the handler carefully.
This is followed by an agonising pause before the dogs are given the green light to eat the food. At once the clever canines lunge forward as one, scooping the food up excitedly.
Nine of the dogs then jump down off the platform at their handler’s request, but one pooch obviously did not get enough food, because he stays on the trailer sniffing about for more treats.

Feeding time! Finally, the handler gives them the sign they’ve been waiting for and the pack lunge forward as one and chow down on the snacks
Shortly afterwards, 10 of the dogs jump down off the platform at their handler’s request, but one pooch obviously did not get enough food, because he stays on the trailer sniffing about for more treats
