A $675 Dolce & Gabbana shirt is being mocked online after Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig tweeted it out to his half a million followers.
It’s not clear whether Ezra, 33, was forwarded the image or was doing a bit of online shopping himself when he came across the button-up shirt. Either way, upon seeing it, he clearly felt compelled to make his thoughts about it known.
The shirt, described online as the ‘dog soldier print shirt,’ is a long-sleeved number bearing the massive image of a dog’s head atop a man’s body wearing military regalia.

The online description adds that the shirt promises to ‘bring your favorite animals to life’ and even notes that the dog has a particular military rank: admiral.
‘This shirt is also detailed with a classic collar, long sleeves, a front button fastening, a paisley print and button cuffs,’ the product listing adds.
Ezra was markedly unimpressed by the pricey item and its design, posting a number of images of it to Twitter.

‘Don’t call yourself a dog lover (or supporter of our troops) if you don’t own this $675 Dolce & Gabbana shirt,’ he wrote.
In a later reply to one of the many tweets that followed, Ezra added that the dog in the print ‘has a kind of aristocratic “let them eat cake” look on his face.’

Plenty of Ezra’s followers rushed in to offer some jokes about the shirt, one of whom said it was ‘the same print that’s hanging up in my grandmother’s assisted living place.’
Others implored Ezra to tell them how they could possibly ‘support the troops and dogs on a budget.’
‘Damn. Just ordered it and even sprung for expedited shipping because I really love dogs and our military,’ quipped another Twitter jokester.
