DOMINIQUE SAMUELS: Drag queen baby raves are nothing like panto!

It’s pretty hard not to notice the advent of Drag Queen Story Hour, imported from the US. It’s spreading like wildfire across the UK and is being framed as ‘family-friendly’ by LGBTQ activists. It consists of grown men, often scantily clad, reading and ‘performing’ for children in wigs and makeup.

We are continually told, mostly by the liberal left, that the advent of Drag Queen Story Hour is somehow enriching for children and, that any objections to grown men presenting themselves as dramatized and sexualised caricatures of women for children, makes you a far-right bigot.

But this ‘family-friendly’ activity is anything but.

Last weekend, I received horrifying videos of a Drag performance for children at the Honor Oak pub in Lewisham. In the video, you can see the Drag Queen named Copper Topp Queen, bunching up his mini skirt to do the splits and gyrate on the floor wearing PVC boots, whilst a young girl watches on and the adults in the room hoot and guffaw with glee.

I was naturally shocked and disgusted, especially when parents expressing concerns on social media were being gaslit with allegations of being homophobes and far-right. In my view, it’s pretty homophobic to suggest that being gay, or even ‘queer’ if you like, has to be constantly associated with highly sexualised behaviour in front of kids. Many gay people do not want to be associated with it and agree these events are inappropriate for children to witness.

Upon examining the website, you can see it is heavily sanitized and features mainly fully clothed women and men. Though it is clearly an acquired taste, nobody would guess that behind the scenes you would find performances better placed in a strip club, being advertised as ‘baby sensory’

There is nothing 'bigoted' or 'far-right' about protecting the innocence of children, and I will continue to shout from the rooftops about this until something is done, writes GB News regular DOMINIQUE SAMUELS (pictured)

From an early age, children absorb everything that is going on around them. What if the children then went on to mimic the inappropriate behaviour they witnessed in the playground?

But little did I know that this saga would get even worse. I was then directed to the Instagram page of a ‘baby cabaret’ company named Caba Baba Rave. It advertises itself as ‘baby sensory’ and targets children 0-2 years old.

Upon examining the website, you can see it is heavily sanitized and features mainly fully clothed women and men. Though it is clearly an acquired taste, nobody would guess that behind the scenes you would find performances better placed in a strip club, being advertised as ‘baby sensory’.

That’s the first alarm bell. What do they have to hide?

The answer ended up being plenty. In one particular video I posted that has gone viral internationally, you can see one man suspended from the ceiling with bondage gear across his chest, dancing suggestively in stripper heels. You then see another man in fetish thongs, (who just so happens to have stage name that is a pun on anal sex), doing a handstand on a chair, barely covering his genitals.

In one of many photographs proudly advertised by the company, a woman is on stage and positions herself suggestively on her hands and knees wearing pink fishnets, grinning at the baby below her. In another, a woman holds a toddler wearing nothing but thongs and nipple tassels.

What we are witnessing is the desensitisation of children to highly sexualised themes, but it's seemingly allowed, all in the name of 'diversity and inclusion', when it is anything but

I seriously question the mental capacity of the parents that think taking their unsuspecting child along to these perverted performances is ok

First of all, I seriously question the mental capacity of the parents that think taking their unsuspecting child along to these perverted performances is ok, along with the venues that allow these sick acts to take place.

What we are witnessing is the desensitisation of children to highly sexualised themes, but it’s seemingly allowed, all in the name of ‘diversity and inclusion’, when it is anything but.

This is nothing like panto, as many activists keep on foolishly insisting. When was the last time a pantomime dame paraded themselves around children wearing bondage gear, or danced suggestively wearing nothing but a thong and leopard print gloves?

The answer is never. And if that were to take place, there would be rightful outrage and disgust.

I cheered when I found out that Caba Baba Rave have cancelled their upcoming shows. But instead of taking accountability, they have chosen to blame the cancellations on online trolling and harassment by the media, whilst failing to acknowledge the valid concerns of numerous parents.

Together we must ignore the incessant screeching from the hard-left, and call this what it is. The government absolutely has a responsibility to act, as do the councils that provide licensing for venues that allow this depravity to take place.

There is nothing ‘bigoted’ or ‘far-right’ about protecting the innocence of children, and I will continue to shout from the rooftops about this until something is done.
