Don Jr. blasts liberals for response to Mollie Tibbetts murder

Just days after relatives of slain Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts slammed conservatives for using her murder as ‘political propaganda,’ Donald Trump Jr. authored a column for a local paper in which he criticized liberals for downplaying the illegal alien status of her alleged killer.

Trump Jr. first kicked off the fiery column Friday for the Des Moines Register: ‘The reaction from some Democrats and others on the left to the murder of Mollie Tibbetts is as despicable as it is revealing.

‘The mask is off and the true radical face of the Democrats has been exposed… they are seemingly more concerned with protecting their radical open-borders agenda than the lives of innocent Americans.’

The executive vice president of the Trump Organization followed in his father’s footsteps this week, days after the president called for tighter immigration laws at rally in West Virginia last Tuesday.

In his column for the Iowa outlet, Trump Jr. claimed liberal media outlets have omitted prominent details about the 20-year-old Tibbett’s alleged killer, Cristhian Rivera, a 24-year-old illegal alien from Mexico.

Rivera was charged last Tuesday with killing Mollie Tibbetts (left on Facebook) and dumping her body in a cornfield in her hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa on July 18

‘Liberal media outlets went through great pains to cover the story without actually covering the story.

‘Instead of truthful headlines such as “Illegal immigrant arrested in connection with murder of Mollie Tibbetts,” multiple outlets ran headlines such as “Man arrested in connection to disappearance of Mollie Tibbetts,”‘ he wrote.

‘They don’t want you to know what happened to her – and they certainly don’t want you to know who is responsible.’

He further reprimanded US Senator Elizabeth Warren, who he said ‘played down the killing and said the focus should be on the “real problems” of our immigration system, such as the separation of families at our border.’

Warren, however, said in a statement on CNN: ‘I’m so sorry for the family here, and I know this is hard not only for her family, but for people in her community, the people throughout Iowa. But one of the things we have to remember is we need an immigration system that is effective, that focuses on where real problems are.

‘In the same interview, speaking about the separation of children from their parents, I think we need immigration laws that focus on people who pose a real threat and I don’t think mamas and babies are the place we should be spending our resources.’

Trump Jr. also named a few journalists in the column, who he slammed for their jarring remarks on the college student’s death.

He said the most outlandish remark was from Chris Riotta, a writer for The Independent.

Riotta ‘claimed in the Independent that “Russian bots used Mollie Tibbetts’ death to distract from Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort,”‘ Trump Jr. wrote.

‘Riotta and his ilk simply can’t face the fact that the murder of an innocent girl at the hands of an illegal alien is news that Americans actually care about.’

Aside from the Trump family, other conservatives, including commentator Candace Owen, had tweeted asking what leftists would do for the victim after they ‘cried when illegal immigrants were temporarily separated from their parents.’

Mollie’s cousin, Sam Lucas, lashed out at Owen in a series of fiery tweets last week.

The victim’s cousin said Owen was using the college student’s murder as political propaganda.

‘We are not so f**king small-minded that we generalize a whole population based on some bad individuals. Now stop being a f**king snake and using my cousin’s death as political propaganda. Take her name out of your mouth,’ Sam wrote on Twitter.

‘And fyi @RealCandaceO, my whole family is hurting right now and you’re not helping.

‘You’re despicable and this is so far from the loving and kind soul that Mollie was. My prayers go out to you in hopes that maybe you’ll become a better person. Not hedging my bets tho.’

Sam later clarified that she didn’t speak for the whole Tibbetts family – and was only trying to argue that they should be able to grieve without politics.

The Mexican national charged over Mollie’s death had been living in Iowa and, according to cops and the government, had been working illegally for anywhere between four and seven years, police said.

He was arrested and charged in her death after recently recovered surveillance footage led police to his Chevy Malibu following a month-long investigation into Mollie’s disappearance.
