Donald Trump reveals he plans to give golfing legend Sir Nick Faldo a top White House job if he wins November’s Presidential race as he lauds him a ‘major friend of mine’

Donald Trump wants to give golfing legend Sir Nick Faldo a job at the White House if he is elected president in November, the Republican presidential candidate said.

Trump gushed over the British golf champion at a campaign rally in Bozeman, Montana, revealing that Faldo was ‘a major friend of mine’, as he attended Trump’s event.

During the rally on Friday, Trump addressed the retired sportsman and praised his golfing skills to the crowds.

‘He could take people, he’d play the best players in the world, and they always folded in front of him. In fact, I think I need to bring him into government ’cause we like to get other people to fold.’

The former president then pointed to Sir Faldo and said ‘that guy can play golf…He’s won six majors and many, many tournaments, and he’s one of the greatest golfers ever’.

Although Faldo is from Hertfordshire, England, he appears to have taken an interest in Republican politics since marrying his fourth wife, American former topless dancer Lindsay De Marco back in 2020.

De Marco, 61, a MAGA fanatic who was named Mrs Conservative US in 2012, is a loyal Trump supporter.

On Friday, she attended Trump’s Montana rally with her husband, where they were seen chatting with the former president

She frequently shares her support for Trump on social media. Last month, she posted an image to Instagram of a red MAGA cap with a halo around it.

After Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13, she posted an image of Trump and captioned it: ‘This is the only man I want leading our country!’.

On Friday, she attended Trump’s Montana rally with her husband, where they were seen chatting with the former president.

The pair reside on a farm in Montana, close to Bozeman, where Trump’s rally took place.

They moved in 2022, after Sir Faldo announced that he was retiring from full-time commentating to spend more time with his wife.

The couple had purchased a 125-acre ranch in 2020 and then began building a new farmhouse called Faldo Farm.

They met in 2018 and tied the knot two years later in Florida Keys.

Commenting on the nuptials, one of de Marco’s ex-husbands, Randy Heine, said the pair were like ‘golf’s answer to Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor’.

He also said ‘Lindsay has enough husbands for us all to be ushers at the wedding’, referring to her six previous marriages.

Heine claimed that his ex-wife had been a topless dancer, which was backed by a former manager of a bar she used to work at.

However, she has denied this.

She later worked as a manager for one of Heine’s businesses which was raided by drugs officers.

Lindsay pleaded no contest and received a $250 fine and six months probation.

Two years later she struck a deal and entered a guilty plea to one charge of ‘use of interstate conveyance to ship drug paraphernalia’.

She was sentenced to six months of house detention.

The golfer himself has had three previous marriages.

Faldo separated from his first wife Melanie Rockall when she discovered he was having an affair with his manager’s secretary, Gill Bennett.

The golfer would then go on to marry Bennett, before their relationship ended when he had an affair with 20-year-old American golfing student Brenna Cepelak.

That three-year affair ended when he met Valerie Bercher and the spurned Cepelak famously battered Sir Nick’s Porsche with a golf club, reportedly causing damage of £10,000.
