Shocking photographs of a Botox customer who claims she was left ‘looking 50 years older’ following ‘bogus’ treatment have been shown to a jury.
Marcelle King, 62, said she felt like she was ‘burned with a cigarette end’ and pictures show that her face had swelled rapidly after the surgery.
The court heard she was told ‘no pain, no gain’ when she complained to Ozan Melin, 41, about her agony following one of his procedures.
Mrs King, from Poole, Dorset, paid Melin hundreds of pounds for treatment on her ‘jowls and brows’ and is one of three middle-aged women the cosmetic surgeon is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to.
Images of her face were shown to jury members during the second day of a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday.
Melin claimed he had been trained in Botox in America when in fact he had no medical qualifications and was not registered with the General Medical Council, the court heard.
He is said to have acted recklessly by using undiluted ‘fake’ Botox solution that was described by a forensic plastic surgeon as ‘an extremely dangerous substance’.
Mrs King, a dog behaviourist, saw Melin in July 2013 at a beauticians’ salon in Poole.
She texted Melin’s then-wife Lisa Bolster to say she ‘looked 50 years older’ and ended the text with a sad face emoji, the court heard.
Mrs King, who was 58 at the time of the treatment, said: ‘He arrived with a big needle case and I said ‘you are going to use those fine needles I have seen in photos?
‘He held up what looked to me like a canine vaccination needle and said ”these are better”.
‘I just really accepted that was how it happens.

‘I asked for my jowls to be done. I don’t know how many injections there were but it was a lot, it was all done quite quick, probably less than a minute.
‘It was very painful, I think at that point he said ”no pain, no gain”.’
Mrs King had a second follow-up session with Melin on July 22.
She said: ‘The second injections were twice as painful. It felt like being burnt with a cigarette end.
‘When I got in my car I noticed my head was starting to swell.
‘When I got home my husband was pulling horrible faces – I started to get lots of blisters and my face started swelling outwards.

‘I had burn blisters all around my eyes, I couldn’t see out of my eyes. I was having trouble moving my neck and wheezing.’
In a text message Menin’s wife, Lisa Bolster, told Mrs King she had ‘never seen a reaction as bad as yours’.
Mrs King texted on July 26: ‘I look 50 years older. Booey hooey :(‘.’
Mrs King said after the pain and swelling went down she suffered extreme fatigue for a year.
In 2014 after Mrs King went to the police, officers raided Bolster’s home in Lytchett Matravers, near Poole, and found nine glass vials labelled ‘Botox’ in her freezer.

She said: ‘I thought he was a doctor, I would never have had it done otherwise. I had no reason not to believe him.’
Another woman, Jozette Sheppard, was left unable to ‘eat, speak or smile’ for six months after being treated by Melin.
She told the court she couldn’t smile after the treatment because she felt too embarrassed and said it was ‘very painful.
Ms Sheppard said: ‘Afterwards as time went on it got more and more uncomfortable, hotter and hotter.
‘During the evening it was like my head was on fire, really burning.
‘It started swelling by my eyebrows and I had to lie down because I couldn’t open my eyes. When I woke up I couldn’t open my eyes and I screamed.
‘It was extremely embarrassing, the fact it was because I had Botox. I didn’t want to laugh because I looked stupid, when I laughed my face distorted.’
The company responsible for making Botox – Allergan Ltd – tested the substances in the vials and found they were counterfeit.
Melin, from Uxbridge, Middlesex, ran a mobile clinic called The Smooth Face Botox Company and carried out treatments at beauty salons and customers’ homes.
He denies three counts of causing grievous bodily harm and three charges of fraud.
Bolster, 51, has pleaded not guilty to three counts of fraud and one of unauthorised use of a trademark.
The trial continues.
