Dove Cameron models a long black coat and thin sunglasses as she promotes season two of Schmigadoon!

Dove Cameron stopped by the Today Show to promote her role in season two of Schmigadoon!

In season two, Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong’s characters end up in Schmicago, where the 27-year-old singer and actress plays Jenny Banks, a character that appears to be based on Roxy in the Tony-winning musical.

As she arrived for her segment, the Descendants alum wore a floor-sweeping black coat over a white top with a plunging neckline and wide-legged tan pants.

She slipped her feet into a pair of black platform sunglasses and donned sunglasses. Her hair was parted in the middle and pulled back with her signature face-framing tendrils.

Dove talked about working with the cast which also included Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth, saying, ‘It’s really amazing. The world’s most beautiful, communal, familiar sets. The chemistry is real and honest and they are just the best people around.’

Shmicago: Dove Cameron stopped by the Today Show to promote the second season of the Emmy-winning show Schmigadoon!

Cameron played Betsy McDonough in the first season of Schmigadoon! and explained that the series is an anthology so the same actors return in new roles ever season as the story advances.

Schmigadoon! came out during the COVID-19 lockdowns and was as much fun for the actors to film as it was for the show’s viewers at home.

The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress said they film off the musical numbers in one take.

‘We had such a fun time shooting season one, there was a sense of levity and felt like being a part of live theater at a time when there wasn’t any live theater.’

The Better in Stereo singer also revealed that she’s working on a new album which she expects to release in the fall.

Last year, the Disney Channel alum revealed that Selena Gomez told her she was ‘gonna kill it’ when she was cast in Liv And Maddy.

She found it ‘really important’ to have the sage counsel of the former Wizards Of Waverly Place star before she made her debut in the hit show, in which she played the titular twin sisters from July 2013 to March 2017.

‘Selena gave me some advice on what not to do, and definitely things to do,’ she told Buzzfeed News.

‘For a couple months following that, I would text her in a panic being like, “I don’t know what to do, I’ve never done this before!”

‘And she’s like, “Be yourself; everybody wants you to be yourself. You’re gonna kill it.” That was really important to me,’ added Dove.

Dove was put into contact with Selena by Gary Marsh — who ran the Disney Channel — and feels indebted to him for all the success she has had in her career.

She said: ‘When I first started out on Disney Channel, the head of the network at the time, Gary Marsh, was also the person who had discovered Selena.

‘I owe him everything, what he did for me and my career.
