Dover Heights: Wild footage emerges of occupants in a ute with P-plates throwing objects at bystanders

Disturbing footage has emerged of occupants in an erratically driven ute sporting P-plates appearing to throw water bomb balloons at a young schoolboy, pedestrians and other road users in an affluent suburb.

A concerned motorist filmed the incident while the white ute was travelling along Military Road in Dover Heights in Sydney’s east on February 2.

The footage showed objects been thrown from the driver and passenger windows at people walking on footpaths and a delivery driver on a bicycle waiting at an intersection.

The objects splattered as they hit the ground.

The occupants of a white ute with a P-plate were filmed hurling what appeared to be water bomb balloons at pedestrians and other road users

A schoolboy standing on a roadside corner was hit by one of the objects

Close-up footage showed his soaked shirt.

The ute was also filmed going down a one-way street in the wrong direction.

The man who filmed the incident supplied the footage to NSW Police but told radio station 2GB on Wednesday that no action had been taken.

Police told 2GB host Ben Fordham they had no record of the complaint and asked for his details again.

Fordham called the apparent lack of action by police ‘poor form’.

Police told Daily Mail Australia early Thursday that the incident is being investigated.

‘Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command have commenced an investigation following a report the occupants of a vehicle were seen to throw objects at pedestrians,’ the police statement said.

‘As investigations continue, anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to contact Eastern Suburbs Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 300 000.’
