Police pounced on a gang of youths after a man was allegedly chased and threatened with a knife on high street.

Footage shows officers battling to control the group of teens who gathered in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

In the footage, an officer can be seen bundling a youngster into the back of a police van as police attempt to restrain other youths outside a branch of McDonald’s.

Sirens can be heard sounding as onlookers watch the dramatic scenes unfold.

The eyewitness filming the incident tells officers: ‘Oi, what are you doing? He’s a youth. This is all on video. All of these lads are young.’

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: ‘Police were called to a report that a man had been assaulted by a group of four men at the Sandwell Pub on West Bromwich High Street.

‘The man was on the pavement outside the pub at around 4.30pm on December 1, when he was approached by four youths, who got into an altercation with him and threatened him with a knife.
