Dramatic moment van flips on a Sydney motorway

Shocking dashcam footage has captured the moment a van driver narrowly avoids disaster while rolling on a major Sydney road.

A Toyota HiAce van and a Honda Accord sedan collided on the northbound Hume Motorway past Badgally Road about 11.40am on Monday.

A dashcam owner was driving behind the van when the incident occurred and captured the terrifying moments leading up to the crash.

The traffic is travelling at speeds of up to 110km/h when the van erratically swerves into the left-hand lane.

Within a second the van swerves again, presumably the driver correcting himself, but instead it noses towards the rear of a car in the right-hand lane.

The impact sends the van flipping onto its side before it drags along the road with hot sparks flying.

The other car escapes without any major damage and continues driving before pulling over.

No injuries were reported and no charges have been laid.

Traffic was backed up a few kilometres to Narellan Rd after one of three northbound lanes were closed, causing delays into the evening.
