Freaky furniture! These bizarre designs are memorable for all the wrong reasons – from a chocolate bar bed to a chair shaped like an EGG

Taking a design risk is great, but these photos prove they don’t always pay off.
Bored Panda has created a gallery of quirky designs handpicked by a Russian artist named Katia Tolstykh for an Instagram page called @Sorry_for_Design.
The page showcases eccentric furniture and interior designs from all over the world, including chairs that look like apples a bathroom modelled to look like an underwater wonderworld and chairs made out of hair.
Some of them wouldn’t look out of place in a futuristic film set from the 70’s while others may be artful, they err on the side of impracticability.

This table features a submissive woman bent on all fours in a figure-hugging ensemble… definitely a talking point – if only for the wrong reasons
How do you like your eggs in the morning? As a chair….. cool concept but it might only be able to seat a small toddler
This chocolate bed certainly isn’t melting in our mouths and looks like a foam filled monstrosity
This chair, aptly named ‘Chairman Mao’ after the Chinese communist leader, and even painted in red – looks more Chairman ‘ow’ if you were to sit on it and the addition of eerily long fingers and toes to complete the creepy look
The wrong kind of texture – this creative pink sofa certainly looks spongey, but what would it be like to sit on?
This Cat-a-strophic drawer set would leave us running like a scalded cat into the next dimension – where hopefully they have better drawers
Can I get fries with that? This hot dog inspired sofa is pretty cool but it doesn’t look practical – but as it’s meant to be ‘art’ I guess practical wasn’t the first thought on the list
We thought our days of musical chairs were over until we saw this string inspired piece, that might not look out of place at a concert hall
