Aussies looking to get onto the property ladder now have a rare opportunity to purchase a castle-like haven – and it costs less than $800,000.

The unique two-storey white stone masterpiece unlike any other embodies a whimsical presence amid neatly manicured lawns and modern homes in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

From the street the property looks like an ordinary home among others, but as soon as you walk down the driveway you instantly notice the castle tower, archway and wall.

Spanning across 784sqm, the castle has a starting price between $749,000-$799,000.

The grand entrance features stairs leading up to a welcoming terrace to the slightly curved Naytoah timber front door with statues and a fountain on the side.

Inside awaits a medieval grandeur combined with wooden interior features. There’s a formal living an dining room equipped with royal red carpet and a large fireplace.

The cost for such a divine home may come as a shock to some when compared to Sydney’s astronomical median house prices, which tipped to $1.62million in December 2023.

Port Lincoln is a city on the Eyre Peninsula and is a seven-hour drive away from the Adelaide CBD. The property was built in 1990 and last sold in 2012 for $485,000.

At the heart of the castle is the timber kitchen which features an eight burner stove, huge oven, enough space for a double fridge and ample benchtop room.

Adjacent is the laundry followed by the bathroom and one of the two downstairs bedrooms. The timber interior continues throughout and there’s also sparkling chandeliers dangling from the ceiling in the living-dining room.

The cream wallpaper and gold corner trimmings add a nice touch of elegance and character.

Upstairs awaits the giant 8m by 4.6m master bedroom complete with a walk-in wardrobe with overarching views of below and convenience access to a bathroom.

There’s also a 20m garage, backyard with rainwater tanks and enough room for family BBQs.

Not only is the home picturesque, it’s a mere 600m from the coastline and a quick seven-minute drive to the town centre.

Port Lincoln was one of the areas included in the Smart Property Investment’s most recent FAST 50 report, which was released in February 2024 to highlight the suburbs are investing in.

Best known for it’s incredible seafood, Port Lincoln was initially considered as South Australia’s capital due to its vast and deep harbour, but lack of fresh water meant Adelaide was subsequently chosen.

The area has a strong primary economy today as 50 per cent of South Australia’s wheat, barley and oil seed production is based in the Port Lincoln region, according to Smart Property.
