A drink driver was found slumped over the wheel by police after he drove into the sea during a boozy night out.
Darius Andreikenas, 38, drove his Volkswagen Golf straight across a beach and up to the water’s edge in Newquay, Cornwall.
Local residents raised the alarm and police found him leaning on the wheel as the incoming tide lapped at the vehicle at Great Western Beach in the coastal town.

Police officers went down to the beach and discovered Andreikenas slumped over his steering wheel
Andreikenas, fron Newquay, had to be freed through the boot of the car as the water rose and later tested four times over the drink drive limit.
He admitted drink driving when he appeared at Bodmin Magistrates Court in Cornwall last week.
Andreikenas was given an eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, for the incident which occurred in May.
It comes as former England captain Wayne Rooney, 31, was charged with drink driving after being pulled over by police in the early hours of Friday morning.
He had to be rescued by the emergency services after he took his silver vehicle for a drive
The former Manchester United striker was driving party girl Laura Simpson’s Volkswagen Beetle when he was stopped in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Rooney has been released on bail and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court later this month.
