Driver, 24, accused of causing horror rollover crash is arrested

Zachari Brock, of Bradenton, has been charged with two felonies

Police have arrested a 24-year-old man they suspect of being the hit-and-run driver who left a 19-year-old critically injured in Sarasota, Florida.

Zachari Brock of Bradenton, has been charged with two felonies – leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury and driving with no valid license involving a serious injury.

He is accused of driving the Kia minivan that turned in front of Jack Kelley’s black Audi on US 41 on Thursday.

The van was attempting to turn into a gas station when it clipped the back of Jack’s vehicle and he swerved into the other lane to avoid hitting the other driver.

In surveillance video of the crash, the impact sends Jack’s car flying into the air and it flips over at least four times.

The car finally comes to a stop outside the Lantern Inn and Suites where shocked witnesses rush over to help the teenager. Meanwhile the driver of the minivan immediately drives off.

A portion of the video shows Jack’s car knocking down a fence surrounding the hotel’s pool.

Following news of the arrest, Jack’s father Michael Kelley told DailyMail.com: ‘I’m dead to that guy [Brock]. All my focus is on my two kids.

‘Siena, his sister, is devastated. Jack has a long way to go.’

Mike had earlier revealed his son ‘had quite severe brain trauma’

‘They’re sustaining him and watching him and continuing to monitor him at this point,’ he explained.

‘He was on his way to class when somebody who couldn’t man up and stop saw that horrible accident. Someone in the community knows what happened to him.

‘Somebody needs to do the right thing and turn that person in because not only has he impacted me and my child and family, but there’s so many people in this community that know Jack, and my family, and love him.’

Ohio native Don Fuchs was seen in the surveillance video running from his hotel room to help Jack.

He told Fox 13 that the crash ‘sounded like a big bomb went off’.

‘I wanted to make sure he was all right, get him out of there before it caught on fire or anything,’ he said.
