‘Mindless’ driver blocks in fire engine responding to call-out after they leave their car in front of station’s emergency doors

A driver blocked in a fire engine by parking their Ford Focus in front of station doors.
In the video, the silver vehicle can be seen parked in front of Cosham Fire Station in Portsmouth.
The footage, shared to Twitter by the fire station yesterday, shows the fire engine with flashing lights trying to get past the vehicle.

Firefighters at the station were called to a road traffic collision last night when one of the appliances was hampered by the vehicle.
Fortunately, other Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service vehicles were able to respond as normal and resolve the incident.
The station first took to Twitter to shame the unknown driver.
They tweeted: ‘”Mindless parking award” goes to the owner of this silver Ford Focus currently blocking in one of Coshams frontline Emergency Fire Appliances.’
Cosham Station Manager Steve Jenkins said: ‘A delayed response to an incident can make a huge difference in the safety of those that need our help.
‘This incident highlights the disregard some drivers have for the emergency services.
‘We want to help members of the public understand that they can help us by ensuring they park their vehicle to allow sufficient space for an emergency vehicle to pass.’
In July this year, a Porsche driver parked in front of a fire station completely blocking an exit, because of a ‘wedding emergency’.
