Driver filmed ripping off a wheel clamp and driving off

  • A driver found his BMW was clamped after he had parked on a street in Lisbon
  • He had a plane to catch and was told it’d take 45 minutes to remove the clamp
  • Instead of waiting, he takes matters into his own hands and removes it himself
  • He then gives the thumbs up to the camera before driving off to the airport

An elderly driver ripped a wheel clamp off his car and drove off with it in his boot so he did not miss a flight.

The man’s BMW 4×4 was targeted by parking wardens on venida Visconde de Valmor, in Lisbon, Portugal, on Thursday and he was told he would need to wait up to 45 minutes to get the device removed.

But the smartly dressed motorist had a plane to catch and took matters into his own hands.

Passers-by videoed as the man got out of the vehicle and began tugging on the clamp.

At first, the device would not come loose so the driver got back behind the wheel and tried to drive off.

But he soon realised this was not a wise move and once again got out of the car and started pulling on the clamp.

Eventually, he manages to rip it off and tosses it into his boot – much to the amusement of the watching crowd who clap and laugh.

The driver then takes the tape from the car and gives the thumbs up to the camera before driving off.
