Driver in Georgia discovers suitcase with HUMAN BONES

A driver in Georgia discovered a suitcase filled with what are believed to be human bones on the side of Interstate 75, after stopping to investigate what appeared to be lost luggage on the side of the road.

According to WSB-TV, the driver stopped to look for a tire he’d lost, and made the horrifying discovery Thursday.

Not long after, the scene was cordoned off by crime scene tape.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on the case along with the Butts Count Sheriff’s Office.

‘We noticed there was a taped off area back in the woods, thought it was kind of strange,’ said Josh Williams, who made the grisly discovery.

The GBI hasn’t called the discovery foul play just yet, however, others have their suspicions about the case.

‘Just being a skeleton, it’s gotta be sitting around for a while. It sounds premeditated to me,’ said Matthew Carnowski, a Butts County resident.

The remains will be placed in the custody of the GBI’s medical examiner’s office for further investigation.

According to the Macon Telegraph, this isn’t the first time skeletal remains have been found near a highway in Georgia. The skeletal remains of a man were discovered in Twiggs County along Interstate 16 after a military convoy crashed in 2003. The bones were discovered by a firefighter investigating a gas spill from the wreck – the man was determined to have died in 2001.
